Happy Mother’s Day

Though my mom and I always chat about how this day is made up by Hallmark to sell more cards it is till a great day to show the mother’s in your family how appreciated and loved they are. As I am sitting here at the breakfast table with my mom and grandma I realize how much they have helped me in my life and how many things they have taught me.

Fabulous Friday: Grad Gifts

Graduation Gifts: InaWorldofBees,There'sMeZebra Sandals/Metallic Sandals/Essie Nail Polish/Brass Animals/Basket/Notebooks/External battery/Cosmetic Case

I know that there are the basic graduation gifts, gift cards, school supplies, survival kit, anything we think is practical for a college student. Being a college student myself and thinking back on to when I went off to college which is interesting that I am thinking of that now when I am about to start my last year. When I went off to college I got so many great gifts from everyone I loved and whom I missed when I left but sometimes the best gifts were… the least practical. The random notebooks or the basket which I never really thought I would completely needed but when I did I had them, and the best part about notebooks is you can leave a little note in them. So as my friends start to get ready for their high school graduation I am starting to plan my gifts and I want to have some fun in picking them out.

Got anyone graduating this year? What are you getting them? Leave a comment below I would love to hear other people’s ideas.

Spring Cleaning

I cannot believe it is finally that time of year. It is finally spring time and I think the weather is finally warming up so that it is actually feeling like spring outside.
So you guys must see what is coming next. Spring time calls for Spring Cleaning! And I mean cleaning everything out and just going through everything.

Even though I am such a huge shopper-shopping-pack-rat-can’t-throw-anything-away kinda person I actually love spring cleaning. I still always end up with a lot of stuff but I promise I get rid of stuff! Just this past weekend I finally took the bags of clothes that I had back home and in my apartment to Plato’s Closet (which is always pointless but if you can get some money why not right?) then after picking the pieces to consign here where I live we donated the rest which is always the best!
I think that is my favorite part of cleaning out everything is giving it a new home either someone you know or someone you don’t who will really appreciate it!

I loved this part of Shopaholic where she is learning to get rid of stuff

I loved this part of Shopaholic where she is learning to get rid of stuff

So let’s go through the steps of spring cleaning in my opinion!
First thing first make a plan on when you will go through what because if you try to do it all at one time you will get winded and then you will probably stop and not start back.

So step 1: pick either a long weekend or maybe smaller amounts of time during the week. Once you have that all figured out then you can take that room head on.

Stay tuned for the next step

Finally a look into 2013

Resolutions… I feel are the hardest promises to keep, so you see how it is kind of hard for me to even think of ones that will be plausible for me to accomplish and stick to.  So this break some things I feel have stood out more.  One big thing is that I need to find something that I enjoy that will give me a break from school, jewelry, basically life. So… first resolution

1. Find an activity that will make me feel relaxed and let me be myself. Many people say that working out is that place for them and reading books. So the first one I want to try is reading while working out! Hahaha. Reading while doing the bike.

I also have noticed how much I feel like I lacked in 2012, I mean look at my blog…. A year in review was pointless because I didn’t share much with you guys, so next resolution is

2. Getting a calendar that I can take with me everywhere to keep of with blog posts and now YouTube videos! I am thinking about a Maybook calendar because it is cute and I designed it so maybe I will use it more! To post a written post and a video at least once a week!

Another thing I have really noticed is that I need to start to make other kind of food and learn how to buy groceries better. I learned watching tv the other day that food that has been in your fridge for a week shouldn’t be eaten. Next resolution….

            3. To eat better and be smarter when shopping for my grocerys!

The next thing I have been thinking about a lot lately is my shop on Etsy; before I start getting into other things for it some steps need to be taken. That leads to the next resolution

4. Time to get a business license and tax id! Then I need to put new pieces up like pronto. Well maybe in a month or two first I have to see how the new stuff on the shop go!

One that seems to be a trend in the blog world is to do some new years cleaning. And man do I need it! I was unpacking from break and I had no idea where everything fit!

5.  Clean out everything! Time to get rid of clothes that have not been worn and shoes and just about anything else that can go!

Well for now that is all I have but I will probably add more as the year goes on as many people do!

I hope everyone had a great New Year!

Weddings anyone?

We all know as our college years start nearing to an end and the dread of the real world starts to encroach on us things start to change. A big one we all see is our friends getting engaged and we all start to notice that wedding season is all year round. As we all find the time to finish school and fit into that bridesmaid dress. Or as we study for finals and figure out what colors our best friend wants for her wedding. Or search high and low for that wedding gown during our final internship. We all just stop and grasp that some how we left college life behind far behind and entered the real world where we all start to figure things out. Where we start, as many say, the rest of our lives. We all kinda step back and have to calm those nerves and remember that we can return to the college life until our day comes as our friends journey into their next chapter.
But nevertheless it is a fun time and we love celebrating our friends love and happiness. Which leads me to the reason for this post!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO JESSI AND MAX!!!!!!

From hectic to relax-tic

one of my photos from Bid Day!

ugh rush is over first day of school has come and gone and I am finally getting into the “rhythm” [according to my marketing teacher] of this semester. So posts should be popping up soon [fingers crossed]. But I am so happy to be getting back in the swing of school, new photography positions, and making more jewelry!
Hopefully things will start to get back to normal!

SO besides traveling,

The roomie and I are also moving in about a month to a new apartment!! We are beyond excited to have a new place to play with! But are not too thrilled about our moving situations, luckily it isn’t that big of a move…… maybe a few streets away.
So since we are moving new design ideas have been coming to mind and with pinterest at my side I am so excited. Here are some ideas on what I might want to do with the Kitchen!

I love baking and cupcakes are my favorite! And this is one of the cutest ways to display the little cupcake liners!

I love this idea of open shelves!

I love these clear display stands. My mom’s best friend has so many of them in her kitchen and I just love them!

Love trays! I am totally making one after we move in

Are any of you lovely readers moving to a new place soon?
Or do you have any design ideas that you might want to share with me?!
